Summary

The Plot: The wealthy Baptista has two marriageable daughters: Kate, and Bianca. Baptista decrees that Kate, the elder, must be married before Biance, the younger. Bianca has many suitors while Katherine, known as the "shrew", has none on the horizon. Then Petruchio comes to find a wealthy wife. He arranges a dowery with Baptista and woos Kate, despite her objections. Meanwhile, the wooers of Bianca disguise themselves as her tutors to win her love which Lucentio, through an even greater deception, wins. Late for the wedding, Petruchio carries her off before the wedding banquet. She is "tamed" while under his care. Upon their return to her father's house, the disguises are discovered and a triple wedding ensues.

Questions

The world is overpopulated -- how to find your second half? Love story -- but as a comedy! * The "is she prettier than me?" test: This one is the trickiest, and I assure you that it's inevitable. She will set you up for this one, and the less you say, the better off you'll be. It can happen anywhere: you can be walking down the street or watching a movie, you can even be sitting in your living room together enjoying a cocktail.
She'll ask you about a friend of hers, a famous actress, or a woman walking down the street. Always say something like: "Why do you even have to ask me? Don't you know you're the prettiest?" (in a very sweet voice) or "Don't you know no other woman compares to you?" This will probably come your way once you're dating steadily. Just give in.

Notes

The pre-show music -- "Love me do"? The Petruccio's gang -- breakdancing? Themes: love and sex.

Chorus

His & Her Inner Voices: I really do not want to rewrite anything, but the cuts. And maybe give some words, sounds to male and female choruses.
Public as CHORUS.

ShrewShow

His men are running around (almost) naked.

The girls Gospel Chorus (?) --

Two leaders (first -- Pete), later -- Kate. They listen to her commands only.

Warmups in front of the audience; get them involved (pre-show).

NO 4th WALL!

Curtain call -- get the public on stage (where is the trick?)

postcard Shrew04 Chorus -- transition between screen and stage (Bianca and Kate stories). Should I Bianca Story at all -- and the advertising pix for the screen, the lies?

Dancing (Bianca cards)

songs (act 1)

PS

Siesta pix - the chorus is on stage most of the time; they want to see it! Side stages are for them. DJ -- stage left down, live (see Jokes).

NB

I have to break the ethos of the Shrew in more groups! Piza, Padua, Venice -- like other countries (Shake never travel to Italy) -- and they were "countries," little princehoods... EU, United States of Europe.

So, Petruchio's gang has Spanish accent. Baptista -- British. Vincention -- Italian. Some are French (Tailor, Pedant).

We tried the Oriental -- Japanese, Indian and etc. It didn't work.

We tried German; funny but scary.
